Special Seats MP for Morogoro Region, Sheilla Edward Lukuba, said increased budget allocations to the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) demonstrate strong political commitment to maintaining all-weather feeder roads.
Kivule MP Ojambi Massaburi added that funding for TARURA and the Ministry of Works has already been increased, stressing the importance of strict contractor supervision to ensure value for money and timely project delivery.
On energy access, Sarah Msafiri, MP for Mvomero, said the government has begun implementing President Samia’s pledge to electrify unserved hamlets within 100 days.
She cited the signing of 30 contracts worth 1.2tri/- to extend electricity to 9,009 hamlets across 25 regions, targeting 290,300 initial customers.
“With such achievements in just 100 days, we are confident that all remaining hamlets will be connected to electricity,” she said.
Energy expansion remains a key pillar of Tanzania’s development strategy, supporting industrialisation, rural livelihoods, and private investment.
