Shawe’s award was given in recognition of his personal support, as well as those of the TransPerfect family, who have combined over the past three years to raise nearly $400,000 toward advancing cancer research. The company’s flagship fundraising event, The Kasey Obarski TLS Invitational, was responsible for over $300,000 of funds raised and donated to The V Foundation.
Shawe stated, “Cancer has touched the lives of far too many people in the world, and many people in the TransPerfect family. I hope to see the day where modern research eradicates this terrible disease. Both individually, and through the efforts of the TransPerfect team, we will continue to raise both money and awareness for what is perhaps the most important medical research of our time.”
“Being part of a company and a management team that gives back to the communities in which we live and work is something that I value tremendously,” said Lisa Chan, Senior Vice President of Sales for TransPerfect. “Talking about giving back is one thing, but I’ve witnessed firsthand the extraordinary lengths that the TransPerfect family has gone to—from bottom to top—to support cancer research, and it makes me very proud to be associated with my company and my co-workers.”
