Under the agreement, Azcuris and AstraZeneca will collaborate on a drug discovery program against targets being pursued by Azcuris. For candidate compounds arising from the collaboration, AstraZeneca has the option to obtain an exclusive license for their further development and commercialization.
The collaboration brings together AstraZeneca’s global drug development expertise and Azcuris’ proprietary drug discovery capabilities, with the goal of advancing novel treatments for patients living with respiratory disease.
The collaboration was formally announced by Dr. Young Ho Jeon, Chief Executive Officer of Azcuris, in the presence of Dr. Nikhil Mutyal and colleagues from AstraZeneca’s External Innovation and Partnerships team.

세종, 대한민국, 2026년 7월 14일 — 에즈큐리스는 세계적인 바이오제약 기업인 아스트라제네카와 호흡기 질환 및 Th2 매개 질환에 대한 혁신적인 치료법 개발을 위한 연구 협력 계약을 체결했다고 발표했다. 이번 협력 발표는 미국 캘리포니아주 샌디에이고에서 열린 NOVA Global Connect 2026 행사에서 이루어졌다.
이번 계약에 따라 에즈큐리스와 아스트라제네카는 에즈큐리스가 연구 중인 표적에 대한 신약 개발 프로그램을 공동으로 진행할 예정이다. 공동 개발을 통해 도출된 후보 물질에 대해서는 아스트라제네카가 해당 물질의 추가 개발 및 상업화를 위한 독점 라이선스를 획득할 수 있는 옵션을 갖는다.
이번 협력은 아스트라제네카의 글로벌 신약 개발 전문성과 에즈큐리스의 독자적인 신약 발굴 역량을 결합하여, 호흡기 질환 환자를 위한 새로운 치료법 개발을 목표로 한다.
