AirWatch Video will be an enterprise application that integrates with content delivery network (CDN) operators to simplify video distribution, security and management and enables organizations to scale and secure companywide video initiatives.
As enterprises are increasingly using video for company initiatives including employee communications, training and sales instruction, AirWatch Video will help IT overcome the hurdles of video distribution, including infrastructure limitations, distribution challenges, cross-performance experience issues, access control, data loss prevention and telecom expense management. Organizations will be able to utilize AirWatch Video to provide a scalable, secure way to distribute relevant videos to end users, manage access and sharing permissions for sensitive video content and deliver updates in real-time. End users often require access to different content based on their role in the organization. AirWatch Video will enable organizations to leverage AirWatch capabilities like advanced grouping by business units, regions, user groups and more to get the right content to the right user.
End users will be able to experience an intuitive video sharing experience with options including view recent or trending videos, favorite videos and download videos for offline viewing. IT administrators will be able to manage compliance settings and set security policies and enforcements, such as restrict viewing to Wi-Fi only to prevent costly data charges and view usage and engagement statistics, all built seamlessly into the AirWatch EMM platform. AirWatch Video will also provide organizations with rich analytics and statistics for training and compliance purposes. This is especially important for highly-regulated industries that require video completion for advancement. For instance, an organization may require video training before granting access to secure information, and AirWatch Video will be able to provide that authentication.
"Employees of all levels in organizations across industries are choosing video to learn, teach and engage, making video the next frontier for IT security, scalability and management," said John Marshall, senior vice president and general manager, AirWatch by VMware. "AirWatch Video will bring a traditionally costly and complicated undertaking into a simple-to-manage product that integrates with the EMM solutions our customers already use. In addition to detailed usage information critical for training and compliance, organizations benefit from a seamless approach to automatically get the right video content to the right user based on their role in the organization."
AirWatch Video is expected to be available publicly by the end of Q4 2014. Contact AirWatch sales or a local AirWatch reseller partner for pricing. To learn more about AirWatch, please visit www.air-watch.com.
