The beautiful, bespoke motor car was a remarkable focal point for the launch of 100 Years of the Phantom, the new book produced by the SJH Group in partnership with the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club (RREC).
The Peninsula London went on to host the London Press Club Ball, sponsored by the SJH Group, providing leading editors, journalists and media figures with the chance to appreciate the exceptional design quality of La Rose Noire Droptail at first hand, on one of the most prominent nights in the British media calendar.
Valued at more than £23 million, La Rose Noire Droptail combines effortless grace with commanding presence. Although details surrounding the commission remain discreet, the car is celebrated for its extraordinary level of bespoke artistry, including an interior composed of over 1,600 pieces of individually hand-finished Black Sycamore veneer and a removable Audemars Piguet timepiece. Its sculptural form and exquisite material choices reflect a modern interpretation of classic coachbuilding and the possibilities of personalised automotive design at its highest level.
“It is a remarkable privilege to have a motor car of this calibre on show,” says Ray Massey, motoring editor of the Daily Mail and chairman of the London Press Club Ball. “Its presence added a tremendous sense of theatre to both events, offering guests a masterclass in contemporary coachbuilt luxury.”
