[PRESSWIRE] SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — 25.08.25 — Vector, the nation’s modern-warfare capability provider, hosted Rep. Mike Kennedy, along with staffers from the offices of Senators Mike Lee and John Curtis, last Tuesday for an exclusive tour of its new Salt Lake City facility.
The visit included a policy discussion on the future of American manufacturing and defense innovation, as well as a first-hand look for the Congressman and staffers at how Vector is advancing technology, creating high-quality jobs for veterans and Utah residents, and strengthening U.S. military readiness.
Andy Yakulis, CEO and co-founder of Vector, who served as an Army Special Operations Commander, made the following statement following the event:
“Vector was honored to host Congressman Mike Kennedy, along with staff from the offices of Senators Lee and Curtis, at our Salt Lake City facility. Their visit highlights the critical role of strong partnerships between industry and policymakers in keeping the United States competitive on the global stage while driving economic growth here in Utah.”
During the visit, Vector emphasized two critical policy priorities for accelerating U.S. defense readiness:
- Meaningful demand signals from the government that enable companies like Vector to provide services and scale production with confidence, ensuring innovative technologies move beyond prototypes and into the field.
- Empower DoD Commanders to cut red tape and purchase attritable systems consistently, ensuring that not every attritable drone purchased by the DoD is through a procurement contract. Greater agility will ensure warfighters have access to the capabilities they need, when they need them.
These discussions highlighted how collaboration between government and industry can streamline the adoption of next-generation systems and reinforce America’s defense industrial base.
Congressman Mike Kennedy commented on his visit in a post to social media:
“Utah is leading the way in drone innovation and implementation for the American warfighter. Prioritizing drone technology will strengthen and secure the future of our military.”
