The Spanish curriculum will engage students through games, music, flashcards and basic conversation. Students will expand their vocabularies by studying fundamental subjects including numbers, colors and food, as well as themes such as family and animals. The chess instruction will weave the game’s fundamentals into captivating stories that foster learning. The stories will teach chess concepts by featuring the game’s pieces as characters engaged in interactive adventures.
“Research shows that the preschool years are the most opportune time to help a child build strong foundations in critical thinking, problem-solving and learning languages,” explained Pam Wolf, NY Preschool founder and CEO. “Providing an opportunity to learn a second language and improve both critical thinking and creative inspiration fits in with NY Preschool’s goal to provide advanced, well-rounded experiences for children.”
NY Preschool merges a warm, welcoming classroom setting with a state-of-the-art gymnastics facility to create a unique learning environment. The result is a program that sparks physical growth and discovery backed by a highly creative curriculum. NY Preschool combines the traditional and the progressive to support each student’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth.
Chess & Spanish will be introduced in September 2016.
