Boulder Diagnostics Announces the European Market Launch for its ParaFlor Parasite Detection Kits.

The rapid assays enable detection in less than ten minutes in both fresh and fixed stool samples and are also available for veterinary applications and Research Use Only in humans in the US. The ParaFlor B kit is the first specific assay for the detection of the Blastocystis parasite. “We are pleased to contribute to the debate over the role of Blastocystis infections in persistent gastrointestinal disorders with our novel and highly specific ParaFlor assay kit”, comments Dr. Wolfgang Pieken, President and CEO of Boulder Diagnostics Inc. A study by Dr. Ronald Fayer of the US Department of Agriculture-ARS, Beltsville, MD on the presence of Blastocystis in cattle noted the accuracy and practicality of this immunofluorescence (IFA) assay method as compared to PCR. (Fayer et al, 2012, Parasitol Research vol 111, 1349 – 55.) “ParaFlor parasite detection kits are available worldwide for order on our web site, www.BoulderDiagnostics.com” , remarks Dede Willis, COO of Boulder Diagnostics Inc.
