Robin Freeman is named the New General Manager of IFL

Ms. Freeman is the General Manager of IFL in Bedford, TX. She brings 18 years of experience to the company across different areas of forensic science. Her proficiencies include controlled substances, trace evidence, forensic biology and crime scene investigation.

As General Manager, Freeman will help maintain efficient operations by planning, directing and coordinating existing local lab operations. She will also assist in the start-up of regional and remote lab operations. Her collaborations with clients, government agencies and professional organizations make sure for smooth business operations.

“I am excited to be part of such an innovative model addressing the forensic needs of law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and the defense community,” Robin stated, expressing her enthusiasm for working with IFL. “I will help ensure we provide the quality necessary to serve the judicial system.”

Previously, Ms. Freeman worked at the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences as the DNA Interpretation Manager for 6 years. There she performed Serology and STR/DNA casework as well as serving as an expert witness. Prior experiences also include working as the Associate Forensic Lab Director of Identigene, LLC and the DNA Section Supervisor for the Texas Department of Public Safety-Region II Crime Laboratory (Houston).

Ms. Freeman received her Bachelor degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry from North Carolina State University. She also holds a Masters in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University along with an Executive MBA from University of Houston, Texas. Ms. Freeman is well qualified being an active member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) and certified by the American Board of Criminalistics (F-ABC).
