At the Chilean research base in King George Island, scientists told me that the entire West Antarctic Ice Sheet is at risk. If it broke up, sea levels could rise by six meters. Think of the effect on the coastlines and cities: New York, Mumbai and Shanghai, not to mention small island nations. It may not happen for 100 years – or it could happen in 10. We simply do not know. But when it happens, it could occur quickly, almost overnight. It sounds like the script of a disaster movie, but this is science not science-fiction.”

Investigation into the World’s Indigenous Peoples request to the United Nations General Assembly by Thomas Banyacya of the Hopi nation. How this relates to the catastrophic consequences of the imminent massive destabilization of the Greenland ice mass. Veli Albert Kallio, FRGS, respected environmentalist and geophysical researcher, founder of Organisation ‘Frozen Isthmuses Protection Campaign of the Arctic and North Atlantic Oceans,’ predicts that a massive destabilization of the Greenland ice mass is imminent. This collapse would cause sea levels to jump 5 to 7 meters. Many major cities, including London, New York, Mumbai and Shanghai, would be flooded.* Kallio will be revealing his discoveries and how they relate to the Indigenous Peoples oral history and their recollections of previous ice age melting. In particular relating to Thomas Banyacya of the Hopi nation and his request to the United Nations General Assembly on behalf of the World’s Indigenous Peoples.
Veli Albert Kallio is organizing, an international FIPC scientific research expedition to the Melville Bay Area of Greenland to prove his theory of a possible ice sheet land containment failure.

The warming effect of CO2 is amplified in the Polar Regions and is causing the Arctic to warm at least twice as fast as the global average. The maintenance of the polar ice caps is essential for keeping the whole planet from overheating. The Arctic sea ice is itself part of a thermostatic control mechanism that has operated for over two million years. If this mechanism brakes, and Arctic warming continues unabated, then inevitably the potent greenhouse gas, methane, will be released from permafrost in vast quantities and heat the whole planet catastrophically. Also much of the Greenland ice sheet will inevitably slide into the sea, causing a sea level rise of up to 6 metres.
There are three essential steps to rescue the situation:
1. emissions reduction more rapidly than currently committed;
2. active CO2 removal from the atmosphere;
3. cooling of the Arctic sufficient to save the Arctic sea ice.
For cooling the Arctic we propose a “solar radiation management” (SRM) technique, to mimic the cooling effect of volcanoes when they produce a reflecting aerosol haze in the stratosphere.
We present a challenge to the rich nations: to carry out these three essential steps to save the planet for the sake of future generations. The current Copenhagen course is suicidal. ‘ John Nissen.
