S poslaním vytvárania nových cestovných trás, ochrany voľne žijúcich živočíchov, pomoci domorodým ľudským komunitám a zachovania prirodzených biotopov budútímy čeliť 3 výzvam, ktoré budú od prvého dňa testovať ich tvorivé schopnosti. Pomocou údajov a informácií z programu Copernicus, signálov a údajov z programov Galileo a EGNOS, ako aj bezpečných technológií pripojenia, predstavia riešenia meniace pravidlá hry, vďaka ktorým budú riešiť problémy budúcnosti!
Aby sa zabezpečilo úplné sústredenie a odhodlanie, každý zúčastnený tím bude požiadaný, aby si vybral len jednu úlohu, ktorá mu umožní dosiahnuť najvyššie hodnotenie. Tri úlohy, z ktorých sa bude vyberať, sú:
- Bezpečný priechod po mori: Účastníci navrhnú výrobky, zariadenia alebo služby, ktoré by umožnili kontajnerovým lodiam, výletným lodiam a rybárskym plavidlám bezpečnú plavbu po severských moriach.
- Život na pevnine: Účastníci navrhnú výrobky, zariadenia alebo služby, ktoré by umožnili ľudským spoločenstvám, rastlinám a voľne žijúcim zvieratám lepšie sa prispôsobiť arktickému podnebiu.
- Starostlivosť o voľne žijúce živočíchy: Účastníci navrhnú produkty, zariadenia alebo služby, ktoré by mohli pomôcť chrániť biodiverzitu a prirodzené biotopy voľne žijúcich živočíchov v Arktíde.
Riešenia vytvorené v rámci týchto jedinečných úloh v Arktíde môžu byť tiež použité a prispôsobené na riešenie podobných problémov, ktorým čelia krajiny mimo arktický kruh. Každý z 10 organizátorov európskeho hackathonu je vyzvaný, aby účastníkov upozornil na miestne využitie týchto riešení.
Na Slovensku bude hackathon organizovaný Slovenskou vesmírnou kanceláriou (SSO). SSO je spoločným projektom Slovenskej agentúry pre rozvoj investícií a obchodu a Ministerstva školstva, vedy, výskumu a športu Slovenskej republiky. Víťazný tím s najviac sústredenou a uskutočniteľnou myšlienkou bude mať úžasnú príležitosť úzko spolupracovať s organizáciou a vychutnať si celý rad cien, vrátane prístupu do miestneho vesmírneho inkubátora.

Making the most of EU Space data in the Arctic Region
Dive into some of the critical challenges faced in the Arctic with the 2nd CASSINI Hackathon.
The 2nd CASSINI Hackathon, scheduled for 5-7 November, is gearing up to be a fantastic event which will tackle a very important global challenge head on. From day one, participants in 10 locations across Europe will have the opportunity to leverage EU Space data to Connect the Arctic.
With the mission of creating new travel routes, safeguarding wildlife, assisting native human communities and preserving natural habitats, teams will be presented with 3 challenges which will test their creative skills from day one. Using data and information from Copernicus, signals and data from Galileo and EGNOS, as well as secure connectivity technologies, they will imagine game-changing solutions and problem solve for the future!
To ensure total focus and dedication, each participating team will be asked to choose just one challenge for their shot at the top spot. The three challenges to choose from are as follows:
- Safe passage at sea: Participants will design products, devices or services that could enable container ships, cruise liners and fishing trawlers to navigate safely across Nordic Seas.
- Life on land: Participants will design products, devices or services that could enable human societies, plants and wildlife to better adapt to the Arctic climate.
- Caring for our wildlife: Participants will design products, devices or services that could help protect biodiversity and the natural habitats of wildlife in the Arctic.
The solutions created while solving these unique challenges in the Arctic can also be used and adapted to solve similar challenges faced by countries outside of the Arctic circle. Each of the 10 European Hackathon organisers are invited to highlight the local application of these solutions to their participants.
In Slovakia, the Hackathon will be organised by the Slovak Space Office (SSO). The SSO is a joint project of Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency and the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic. The winning team with the most focused and workable idea will have an amazing opportunity to work closely with the organisation and enjoy a range or prizes including access to the local space incubator.
