AEP Networks launches AEP Keyper v2

AEP Keyper, the most comprehensive cryptographic HSM of its class for secure key management, offers public key infrastructure (PKI) administrators the highest levels of assurance and performance. It is certified to FIPS 140-2, Level 4 – the highest level of FIPS 140-2 certification. This level of certification is unmatched by any other product worldwide.

AEP Keyper is designed for managing mission critical applications that demand maximum security and is ideally suited for companies that need secure key management for certification authorities, registration authorities, OCSP responders, smart card issuers, web servers and other applications.

As an existing user of AEP Keyper, Richard Lamb, manager of the DNSSEC program at ICANN , commented, “AEP recognized the cryptographic needs of DNSSEC deployment efforts early on and listened to and helped ICANN staff meet their needs and requirements. With the release of V 2.0 and its support of m-of-n multi-person control, AEP fulfilled ICANN’s particular goal to build in trust via direct global internet community involvement while maintaining the highest level of key protection by using a FIPS 140-2 level 4 product.”

Pat Donnellan, CEO of AEP Networks comments, “AEP Keyper is being used to guarantee the safety and integrity of critical key material around the world and it has established a trusted reputation for supporting high security, high availability applications. This latest version of the product builds on an already impressive feature set to deliver functionality that is specifically developed to meet customer needs.”

Each Keyper provides load balanced, fail safe, network accessible, FIPS 140-2 level 4 certified cryptographic services (e.g. hardware random seed based key generation, signing, encryption) within an automatic tamper reactive boundary. The Keyper product range has been in use in UK, Australia, US, European Government and other international projects since 2000. These projects include national root authorities, Defence validation authorities (OCSP), revenue and taxation systems, code signing systems, telecoms systems and space systems.
