Brownie groups, firemen, police officers, signing choirs, businesses and over 500 schools are among those participating in the event. They have all learned a specially written song with signs (based on British Sign Language), which they will perform during sign2sing week (1-7 February) while raising money for the charity.
The video for the song, Reach Out Your Hand, has reached over 300,000 people via Facebook with its message of kindness and acceptance. The song was written for sign2sing by Bottletop Music and features vocals by Zoe Birkett, former X Factor contestant and star of The Bodyguard. The video was made for the song by award-winning Deaf film maker Bim Ajadi, starring Deaf Pop Star Fletch with deaf and hearing children from schools in St Albans.

SignHealth: The Deaf Health Charity SignHealth provides a range of services and campaigns aimed at improving the health and life prospects of Deaf people.
Uganda: Communication difficulties and discrimination mean that Deaf people living in impoverished regions of Uganda are unable to access services to meet even the most basic of needs. Lack of access to healthcare, for example, can have devastating consequences for vulnerable people. That, and the stigma and cultural taboos which surround deafness in Uganda, means that Deaf people here are among the most marginalised and disadvantaged groups in the developing . SignHealth Uganda supports schools that provide children with education in sign language and help to tackle taboos surrounding deafness.
