London Green acquired the site in March 2015 with the benefit of permitted development rights to convert the existing buildings and began work onsite in May 2015.  The new consent replaces some of the existing buildings and will provide a total of 251 units, including 13 units for affordable rent and increases the net saleable area from 88,000ft2 to 160,000ft2.

The planning application was unanimously approved by the London Borough of Hillingdon Major Applications Planning Committee at their meeting on Monday 9 February 2016.

Members praised the high quality of the scheme designed by Chassay & Last Architects.  The application was approved with the support of a large number of local residents following a consultation programme carried out by Thorncliffe and Your Shout.

The consented scheme will include an extensive upgrade of the canal towpath, a children’s play area, an energy centre and onsite job training for Hillingdon residents.

Philip Green, Chief Executive of London Green said:  “This is a first class scheme and the decision is a fantastic result for us, for local people and for the London Borough of Hillingdon”.

James Tregoning, Director of London Green added:  “The unanimous decision was testament to the extensive pre-application consultation undertaken with planning officers and engagement with local groups.  The professional team, led by Andmore Planning, has worked incredibly hard to achieve this consent.”
