Health Strategy Associates’ Joe Paduda to Speak at Montana and Maine Comp Conferences

Paduda is the principal of Health Strategy Associates, president of CompPharma, LLC, and author of the provocative ManagedCareMatters blog.

He and WorkersCompensation.com’s CEO Bob Wilson will be the August 24 keynote speakers at the 2016 Montana Governor’s Conference on Workers’ Compensation, promising a lively debate of pressing topics, trends and challenges facing the industry. The conference will be held in Big Sky, Montana, August 24-26.

“I’m honored – and delighted – to be asked back for the third time to Montana Governor’s Conference. The chance to be on the same stage with Bob Wilson to opine on great issues of the day, and in an election year no less, is one I could not miss,” Paduda said.

Paduda will also participate in the 2016 Maine Comp Summit Think Tank on August 30. Moderated by Paul Sighinolfi, executive director of the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board, the session will examine the direction of comp in Maine and trends elsewhere, examine the impact of physician dispensing, explore the constitutionality of several states’ Supreme Court decisions, and highlight innovations in the industry. Paduda, Wilson and Peter Federko, CEO of the Saskatchewan Workers’ Comp Board will be special guests on the panel, which features attorneys from Maine: Jon Oxman, Alison Denham and Phil Bartlett. The Comp Summit will be held in Rockport, Maine, August 28-30. For details, please see http://www.mainehr.com/page/907/workers-comp-summit.

“Perhaps our biggest problem is self-inflicted; the workers’ comp industry does a terrible job talking about the great deal of good that individuals and companies do,” Paduda noted. “I’m looking forward to discussing how we can turn that around.”

In addition to consulting with managed care organizations, employers, healthcare providers, insurers and private equity firms, Paduda conducts surveys examining pharmacy benefits, opioid use, claims systems, and bill review services.
